The annual art show first took place at the former Art and Invention Gallery in 2003. The art show proved to be so popular it quickly became an entire festival. Each year the art show highlights some of Nashville’s favorite artists alongside community contributors new and old.
The show features different mediums of art, including paintings, sculptures, textiles, and more. Art is hung and displayed in a gallery setting for the weekend of the festival. The community is encouraged to view and browse the gallery, as all items they see are available for purchase in person or online. Each year an estimated 10,000 people view the artwork in person.
A panel of art-loving community members review all artwork and award cash prizes to artists in several categories including, Best in Show, Best Emerging Art, Festival Spirit, You’re So Nashville, Heirloom, Best use of Humor, and multiple Merit awards.
